Accepting the fact that real success

takes real work

The lazy man’s way to riches was one of the best headlines and ads ever written by the late, great Joe Karbo.

But it was grossly misunderstood.

The lazy man’s way is not the same as the lazy way. Read that sentence again… it is one of the ultimate keys to success.

I succeed the “lazy man’s way” because I am constantly looking for the best way to do things.  The way that takes the least amount of work, with the least risk and the least amount of time.

Then I do whatever those things are with maximum effort.

The lazy man (or woman – I’m using man because that’s what Karbo wrote in his old ad – no offense meant.) wants to sit on the couch, watch reality t.v. and have checks mysteriously fall from the sky.

When the checks don’t fall… they complain and make excuses.  And usually throw stones at the man or woman that worked hard and actually achieved success.

You can make the choice… right now… to do things the “lazy way” or the “lazy man’s way.”

Stay with me… I’m moving kinda fast.  Next step…

Deciding what is it you

REALLY want

One of the most common reasons for failure is not clearly defining what it is you want.

Clarity and honesty are extremely important here.  Don’t say you want something – or don’t want something because of political correctness.

Having the ability to own up to what you really want is extremely difficult for most people.  The duality exhibited between so many politician’s public and private lives is a gleaming example.  As if the two are really separate and have no effect on each other.

Somehow situational ethics and morality is an accepted way on doing things these days.

If you want to make money… so be it.

If you want to work 3 days a week and lay in bed for 4… good for you.

And if you want to serve as many people as possible… that’s great too.

Success is different for everyone.  And the person who chooses to serve as many people as possible is no better or worse than the one who’s in it just for the money.

The problem occurs when you think doing “the right thing” will lead to making money.  So sir – it won’t.

Doing the right thing leads to… well… doing the right thing.  And doing the right thing is subjective, anyway.

If sacrificing your life is what you really want to do – then do it.  More power to you.  But only do it if your real definition of success is that service.

Next…

Acquiring the necessary skills to give you

the success you really want and taking

massive action with those skills

Know this: Knowledge is NOT power.

If it were, college professors would be some of the most powerful people on the planet.

But are they?

Clearly… they are not.

Contrarily, the proper use of the right knowledge in the right place is.  And you cannot simple acquire the proper knowledge once and forget about it.

Like everything else in the world, success is extremely dynamic.  Principles may stay the same… but… their application and where and how they are applied change rapidly.

And with every year – things change faster and faster.  That’s why you must constantly keep up to date with the most recent breakthrough techniques and applications.  Constant knowledge through reading and seminars is essential in this day and age.

Six months of stagnation can spell disaster for you, your practice and your income.

Watching your back,

Ben : )
